The School-Connect Institute directly prepares participants to implement School-Connect lessons in their classrooms and to provide staff training in their school or district.
The one-day Institute provides an overview of curriculum concepts, strategies and implementation options; practice in facilitating student-driven discussions and activities; and links to academic integration. This interactive training is consistently highly rated by participants and fosters teacher confidence, enthusiasm, and commitment to program goals.
In addition, participants receive a Trainers Toolkit CD containing the Training PowerPoint, a training and implementation guide, the training handout masters, and a short informational PowerPoint for informing staff and parents about the School-Connect program.
It is highly recommend that school teams attend to facilitate implementation in their school or district.
Institute Facilitators Kathy Beland, M.Ed., School-Connect lead author and executive director, and Julea Douglass, Ph.D., co-author and associate director, lead School-Connect Institutes. Kathy and Julea bring the lessons to life with examples from classrooms, interactive activities, and engaging discussions.
